PLDT Global teams up with Conversant to launch new content delivery platform

PLDT Global Corporation (PGC) has teamed up with Singapore-based technology firm Conversant to launch a content delivery network to boost the customer experience of digital-savvy Filipinos worldwide.

This partnership is the latest in the plans of PGC to broaden its reach and make its services more accessible to clients across all borders.

A content delivery network (CDN) acts like a distributed network of servers that media companies, producers and e-commerce organizations use to distribute their apps, videos, and other content in a more secure and faster digital highway to their customers on the internet globally.

“This partnership with Conversant will allow PGC to build a new digital marketplace for content providers and publishers,” said Albert Villa-Real, Chief Commercial Officer at PLDT Global. “This will also help us achieve our mission to enable, empower, and delight the overseas Filipino community by giving them a greater internet experience with the help of this platform,” he added.

“We also want to create more avenues for OFWs and other customers in countries like Guam, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Dubai, to experience our digital products, services, and applications like Free Bee better and faster,” said Edith Gomez, VP & Head, Carrier Business & Global Accounts Management at PLDT Global.

“Our team at Conversant is very excited to be part of PGC’s digital transformation program. Through this partnership, we are looking forward to providing them with a faster and more secure content delivery platform for their clients and subscribers,” said Cheong Kong Wai, CEO at Conversant.

Established in 2002, Conversant is focused on developing innovative digital media enablement solutions and services for telecommunication service providers, content providers, media broadcasters and enterprises. The company is headquartered in Singapore, with development centers in the Cambridge (UK) and Shanghai (China), as well as regional offices in the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Beijing and Hong Kong.
