Xiaomi launches Redmi 7 in Phl

Redmi 7 will be available on April 19, starting at P5,890.

Xiaomi announced Redmi 7 in the Philippines, the latest smartphone in the new Redmi brand. Redmi 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform, featuring a 6.26” Dot Drop display and a 12MP + 2MP AI dual camera, as well as a 4000mAh battery. Redmi 7 will be available on April 19, starting at P5,890.

“With its strong performance, beautiful design, and affordable pricing, Redmi 7 is the perfect smartphone for the Philippines’ young and value-conscious market,” said Steven Shi, head of Southeast Asia, Xiaomi. “It embodies the Redmi brand’s mission of delivering extremely cost-effective smartphones with superior quality and enabling more people all over the world to work, play, and connect with loved ones.”

Redmi 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform. This chipset features the Qualcomm Kryo 250 Octa-core CPU, which consists of four performance and four power-saving cores. This gives a significant boost in performance compared to smartphones in this price range, which typically use processors sporting eight power-saving cores. Redmi 7 is designed to support fluid gaming and a great experience for daily use.

Featuring a 6.26” HD+ Dot Drop display, Redmi 7 has 4-sided curved gradient design with  reduced bezels that comes in three colors: Comet Blue, Lunar Red, and Eclipse Black. The large LCD display with 19:9 aspect ratio allows for an immersive gaming and video experience. The display is also TÜV Rheinland certified — by turning on reading mode, it will provide protection against blue light and reduce the likeliness of visual fatigue. In order to ensure durability, Redmi 7 uses Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 for its front display.

Redmi 7’s 12MP rear camera has a sensor with 1.25μm pixels that produces higher quality images than other products in the same price range. The 8MP front camera supports using hand gestures for selfies.

With an upgraded 4000mAh battery and system optimizations, Redmi 7 has a standby time of up to 400 hours. Redmi 7 produces better sound quality and offers an increase in volume to ensure clarity during media playback and in calls by using a larger speaker than its predecessor.

Redmi 7 comes with a rear fingerprint sensor to conveniently and securely unlock the device, and is also equipped with an infrared sensor, so you can use it as a universal remote, compatible with over 4000 home electronics and appliances. For extra storage, Redmi 7 offers a dedicated microSD slot that supports up to 512GB expansion.

Redmi 7 open sale in the Philippines will start on April 19. The Redmi 7 will be exclusively sold on Shopee and will retail at P5,890 for the 2GB+16GB version, and P6,490 for the 3GB+32GB version.
