Kaspersky Lab appoints MSI-ECS Philippines to boost growth in B2B market

Under the distributorship agreement, MSI-ECS’ resellers will be able to provide customers with Kaspersky Lab’s enterprise line products.

In line with Kaspersky Lab’s strategy to strengthen its growth in the enterprise market, the global cybersecurity company today announces its partnership with MSI-ECS Philippines.

MSI-ECS is one of the biggest IT product and solutions providers in the country carrying over 40 major technology brands with an established reseller network across major cities in the country. Its appointment as the newest distributor of Kaspersky Lab’s suite of B2B cybersecurity products and services is expected to enable the cybersecurity company to further boost its market growth in the Philippines.

The Philippines is an important market for Kaspersky Lab. The global cybersecurity company has consistently kept an eye on the country’s state of cybersecurity through its Kaspersky Security Network.

Its latest data for the third quarter of 2018 revealed more than eight million Filipino Internet users were targeted by online threats, placing the Philippines as the 10th most attacked in terms of web infections for July to September this year.

“The Philippines has gained a lot of attention from the cybercriminals this 2018. Our latest figures even showed that the attacks Kaspersky Lab has blocked for the third quarter are 400% more than the infections we detected in the same period last year. With this partnership with MSI-ECS, we’re confident that we’d be able to provide the most comprehensive protection to local organizations which need the best support as they build the cybersecurity of their businesses and ICS environments. We believe the proven track record of MSI-ECS in the local IT industry and its extensive channel network will make it a strong ally for Kaspersky Lab in this part of the region,” said Yeo Siang Tiong, GM, Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia.

In terms of governance, local agencies namely, the Department of Information and Communications Technology and the National Privacy Commission have shown active implementation of laws and programs needed to establish a cyber-resilient framework for the country.

“The current steps being taken by our government to improve the state of cybersecurity in the Philippines clearly shows that the expertise Kaspersky Lab offers is highly relevant on the homefront. We welcome this new partnership and we are excited to work closely with Kaspersky Lab.  As we take on the SMB and Enterprise segment for the brand, our customers will now have access to next generation protection against intensifying cyber attacks,” said Jimmy Go, president and CEO, MSI-ECS Philippines.

Under the distributorship agreement, MSI-ECS’ resellers will be able to provide customers with Kaspersky Lab’s enterprise line products, including, but not limited to:

  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud
  • Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Office 365
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business
  • Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security
  • Kaspersky Threat Management and Defense
  • Kaspersky Industrial Cybersecurity
  • Kaspersky Fraud Prevention

With over 270,000 clients and 400 million users worldwide, Kaspersky Lab is one of the largest cybersecurity companies in the world. With the appointment of an additional distribution partner, Kaspersky Lab has taken another step in cementing its leading position in the Philippines.
