Motorcycle retailer Ropali Corporation signed a partnership with Lalamove, an on-demand delivery platform. The collaboration entails that Ropali, which has been in the motorcycle industry for over 40 years, will be providing motorcycles to Lalamove participating drivers and help them in the financing of their motorcycle loans at competitive pricing with discounts, according to Carlos Pasion, Ropali’s chief operating officer.
With the partnership, Lalamove partner-drivers could have access to financial services through motorcycle loans, according to Dannah Majarocon, managing director at Lalamove. “We don’t have the basics to do that. We don’t have the consistency of the jobs or the requirements the financial institutions would require, but because they are part of Lalamove who has found a good partner, we have opened doors for them to get motorcycle if they want to upgrade their motorcycle or if they want to get a new motorcycle.”
With more than 34 branches in Luzon, Ropali boasts of genuine motorcycle brands such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha, spare parts and accessories that are within reach. The wide array of distributed brands makes it easier for partner-drivers to choose the right steed to ride when it comes to making fast and efficient deliveries.
Apart from making sure that it delivers fast, the business of Lalamove is also designed to enable drivers by providing an alternative to traditional daily wage jobs to uplift their lives. “We give opportunities for them to earn more. They will earn more as an alternative to an office or a desk job. We have drivers that have decided to shift full time in Lalamove,” said Majarocon.
Through Lalamove, businesses and individuals can book a vehicle through the app to have their goods delivered to their designated destinations around Metro Manila.
To avail of the Lalamove delivery service, an app user has to select and book a vehicle, set pick-up and drop-off destination, as well as view pricing and delivery details.
Majarocon said the Lalamove vehicle delivery services, which started in November 2016, are currently available in Metro Manila only. She also shared that there are already plans to expand their operations outside Metro Manila in the future.
Majarocon also said the platform currently has over 12,000 partner-drivers and plans to increase it to 20,000.
A van, truck or motorcycle driver can become a Lalamove driver. He has to install the Lalamove app on his mobile device and start making customer orders with the vehicle.
