Filipino commuters can now book, reserve their seats, and instantly pay for their bus tickets online at the newly-launched Araneta Center BusPort website powered by PayMaya Checkout, which will help ensure that they have a bus seat even before they arrive at the bus port.

They can also pay using their Visa, Mastercard, or JCB cards, or use their mobile phones and pay using PayMaya QR at the terminal. These payment solutions are part of the total digital payments suite being offered by PayMaya Business to merchants and enterprises nationwide.

The partnership is seen to improve the experience of thousands of Filipino passengers who ride the buses to various points of the country at the Araneta Center BusPort, aside from helping ensure their safety during travel by eliminating the need to bring large amounts of cash to pay for tickets.

Additionally, having cashless options for passengers is seen to help reduce the queue at the bus port, particularly during peak seasons such as Christmas, New Year, and during the Holy Week, when throngs of commuters troop to the terminals to head back to their provinces.

“Whether it’s online or at the bus port, booking bus tickets is now more convenient for passengers, and their total experience now made more secure with the help of PayMaya’s cashless payment options,” said Antonio Mardo, SVP Operations of Araneta Center.

“From malls to restaurants and now even to bus ports, businesses are realizing the benefits of giving their customers cashless payment options to avail of their products and services. This partnership with the Araneta Center Bus Port will not only bring tremendous convenience to commuters, but will help the bus port operate more efficiently as well,” added Orlando B. Vea, President and CEO at PayMaya Philippines.

The Araneta Center BusPort is the first-of-its-kind transport hub to integrate total cashless modes of payment throughout the entire experience, complementing its state-of-the-art centralized ticketing and baggage handling systems and passenger lounge that has brought great convenience to commuters.

Passengers can easily download the PayMaya app so they can transact at the terminal and add money to their accounts through the 7-Eleven branch at the FoodPort inside the Araneta Center BusPort, or through the more than 20,000 other Add Money touchpoints that include Smart Padala centers, SM Business Centers, Robinsons Business Centers inside Robinsons Department Stores, Touchpay Kiosks, UnionBank ATMs, Shopwise, Wellcome, 2Go, ExpressPay, Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop branches, BDO, UnionBank Online, RCBC Online Banking, and financial institutions that are part of InstaPay, among many others.

The Araneta Center BusPort joins already established leaders in the retail, food and beverage, online commerce, and even local governments that have already implemented cashless payment acceptance through solutions powered by PayMaya Business, in its efforts to build a “Cashless Philippines.”
