Since D-Link is new in the CCTV market, Nanotec, with over 10 years of CCTV business experience, will help the company penetrate the CCTV market in the Philippines. Besides, Nanotec will leverage D-Link’s expertise in switches, routers, cables, range extenders, cameras, and recorders so they can provide the total solution for CCTV players.

“With our expertise in the local CCTV market and strong relationship with resellers, retailers and systems integrators, we are confident that we can help grow D-Link’s CCTV business in the Philippines,” said Eason Cheng, vice president at Nanotec.

The goal of the partnership is to make D-Link CCTV solutions third or second biggest in the local CCTV market. Hikvision currently occupies the biggest share of the market, according to Cheng.

Cheng said D-Link products will be available in Nanotec on June 1. CCTV users can buy CCTV solutions on both offline and online shopping sites including Lazada, Shopee, in retail shops including PC World, PC Options, Thinking Tools, Silicon Valley, Complink, and Octagon, and other small and medium stores. The CCTV products will also be available for customers who are engaged in CCTV business including CCTV installers, and CCTV systems integrators.

With the instruction of the Philippine government to install CCTV cameras in all commercial areas, the sale of CCTV cameras rises as many stores started selling and installing CCTV cameras in houses, buildings and even in streets for security purposes.

Chang noted that D-Link supplied PLDT with over 100,000 IP cameras to bundle with their products.

“Rising security concerns pose a challenge to consumers, SOHOs and SMBs alike. The new line of surveillance solutions from D-Link hopes to help users address security issues with convenience and reliability. Through this partnership with Nanotec, we hope to bring our security solutions closer to our target market,” said Jacky Chang, president at D-Link.

Chang relayed that they produced traditional CCTVs for more than 10 years. However, when they learned that more than half of users in Southeast Asia and the Philippines still use traditional CCTVs, they decided to transform these to hybrid or IP cameras by leveraging all its networking products like switches, cables, and other components. This makes D-Link a one-stop shop to help traditional infrastructures moved to IP.
