Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 5 and Mi MIX 2S in PH

Xiaomi officially launched in the Philippines two powerful smartphones—the Redmi Note 5 and the Mi MIX 2S— boasting features that allow you to take better photos and selfies, even in low-light conditions. 

John Chen, Regional Director for Xiaomi Southeast Asia, told members of the press that the Redmi Note 5 employs a dual camera setup, a combination usually adopted only in flagship smartphones. The main 12-megapixel sensor features large 1.4μm pixels, which can capture more light and deliver better results under low-light conditions.

Powered with Dual Pixel technology commonly used in professional dSLR cameras, the camera on Redmi Note 5 is able to deliver incredible autofocus speeds. Its front camera sports a 13-megapixel sensor, complemented by an LED Selfie light. 

Redmi Note 5 uses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 636 platform based on the 14nm manufacturing process. Thanks to its Kryo 260 architecture, 1.8GHz maximum clock speed, the Adreno 509 GPU, and its LPDDR4X DRAM (usually only available on flagship smartphones), it runs more apps simultaneously and switches between programs and games smoothly.

Sporting a 5.99 inch FHD+ 18:9 full screen, Redmi Note 5 also boasts of a large 4000mAh battery, support for fast charging, and the latest MIUI 9 operating system based on Android Oreo.

Redmi Note 5 comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. A simple and elegant TPU case will be shipped in the box with every Redmi Note 5.  It has a price of price of Php 11,990 and will be available at Authorized Mi Stores at Trinoma and SM Megamall, as well as on open sale at Xiaomi’s official online store on Lazada, starting 15 May 2018. 

Mi MIX 2S: Art x Technology

Mi MIX 2S continues to improve the Mi MIX series’ multi-awarded unique design elements, with a beautiful ceramic back that features a four-sided curved design, transitioning smoothly into the aluminum frame that holds a 5.99” FHD+ full screen display. A white version has been introduced with MI MIX 2S, offering another gorgeous option for consumers.

Mi MIX 2S uses the latest Sony IMX363 flagship sensor for its dual-camera setup, with 1.4μm pixels for significantly better photos in low light, and Dual Pixel technology for super fast autofocusing. With its powerful camera features, the Mi MIX 2S is ideal for travel photography, said Chen.

Mi MIX 2S is available in 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB  ROM for Php 27,990 and Php 29,990 respectively. A simple and elegant TPU case will be shipped in the box with every Mi MIX 2S. It is coming soon in June 2018.
