Transcend Information (Transcend), manufacturer of storage and multimedia products, announced the release of the MSA450T industrial solid-state drive equipped with 3D TLC NAND flash memory. The MSA450T comes with DDR3 DRAM cache, low-density parity check (LDPC), and other features that make for a stable, long-lasting product ready for write-intensive industrial and embedded applications.
3D TLC NAND flash are known for its better write endurance and performance that can rival Planar (2D) MLC NAND flash, but at a very competitive price point.
The MSA450T features 3D TLC NAND which offers write performance of up to 400MB/s, as compared to 160MB/s on the MSA370 which comes with 2D MLC NAND.
The MSA450T comes with DDR3 DRAM cache to boost its write performance. The cache acts as a buffer, which helps to increase the drive performance by dedicating fast NAND to read/write cycle.
A low-density parity check (LDPC) error correction code is also featured on the MSA450T to automatically correct errors during operation to ensure data integrity and drive longevity.
Transcend’s SSD Scope Pro software package is a software suite that monitors device health, and helps embedded SSDs run efficiently. Tools include View Drive Information, View S.M.A.R.T. Status, Diagnostic Scan, Secure Erase, Health Indicator, System Clone, and Firmware Update.
The MSA450T comes available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.
