Fujifilm X-H1 levels up the game of pro photographers and videographers

The Fujifilm X-H1

Fujifilm Philippines has revealed the X-H1, the first camera from the X Series to include the latest 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS), which has a maximum of 5.5 stops (*1) as well as a flicker reduction mode that enhances the quality of indoor sports photography.

With a new robust and durable body, the X-H1 incorporates a range of extremely useful features that support shooting in various scenarios demanded by professional photographers and videographers.

The Fujifilm X-H1

With the X-H1, Fujifilm marries its famous photography functions with the superb video shooting mechanism and quality. It has a comprehensive range of video features to support movie and television production requirements, making it a great addition to every professional photographer and videographer’s set of tools in creating visual stories. This groundbreaking innovation has also lead Fujifilm to collaborate with some of the industry’s best, including award-winning celebrity wedding videographer Bob Nicolas, top director of photography for TVCs Odyssey Flores, and blockbuster hitmaker Dan Villegas.

X-H1’s F*log direct-SD Card Recording enables filmmaker Dan Villegas to control colors conveniently. “The F*log helps a lot in color grading. We pushed the footage and the image held up well,” Villegas shared. This feature enables videographers to shoot videos with fundamental colors, which will later be adjusted to the colors desired for the final editing. X-H1 can also record slow-motion clips with its high-speed video recording. The camera’s video image quality has been improved with its capability to record a high bit rate of 200 Mbps.

Shooting can be unpredictable and it comes with unavoidable handheld camera shakes. With its in-body image stabilization (IBIS), the X-H1 minimizes the shakes during shooting. “IBIS works well with my gimbal and is effective for shooting with fast movements. With its small size, face detection feature, high ISO with less grains, and IBIS, I am able to move around in small spaces and follow actions on rough surfaces with less jerkiness,” Flores mused. The IBIS feature makes using any lens, especially with greater focal length, more bearable and convenient because of its 5-axis 5.5 stops. “The ability to shoot handheld with IBIS on helps eliminate micro jitters caused by hand. This is very useful for weddings wherein we move constantly to capture a certain moment. It also helps with shooting on tight spaces where setting up a tripod is not possible,” Nicolas added.

The X-H1 is also the first camera from the X series to have the flicker reduction mode and improved AF algorithms. Flicker reduction modes are essential for indoor sport photography as it provides stable exposure during burst mode, even under fluorescent and mercury lighting.

Fujifilm also equipped this camera with a new film simulation called ETERNA which is ideal for shooting movies. This mode mimics cinematic film, creating understated colors and rich shadow tones and greatly enhancing creative freedom during post-processing. “The ETERNA film simulation is one of the best features of this camera. It looks very natural and pleasing to the eye, perfect for long viewing. With the help of dynamic range boost, footages are easy to color grade, too. This a huge time saver for wedding same-day edits where time is limited for color grading,” Nicolas explained.

The Fujifilm X-H1 Grip Kit

‘With the new X-H1, we can create output with minimal requirements and crew but with the same professional quality.” Flores summed up. Truly not missing a great moment. Fujifilm values its customers’ needs. “I really like Fujifilm as a company because it listens directly to its users and reviewers, encouraging us to provide feedback which is used to further improve their cameras,” Nicolas shared. Fujifilm heard its filmmaking crowd and created a revolutionary product to help moviemakers everywhere produce their best films yet. As the saying goes, big things come in small packages.

The Fujifilm X-H1 Body is priced at Php 106,990, while the Fujifilm X-H1 Grip Kit costs Php 124, 990, available at authorized Fujifilm dealers nationwide.
