Samsung has leapt to the top of the annual YouGov BrandIndex rankings. In a list otherwise dominated by consumer cosmetics brands, it is the tech giant that heads the top ten.
YouGov BrandIndex measures the public’s perception of brands on a daily basis across a range of metrics. The annual rankings are compiled using Buzz scores from across all 52 weeks of last year. Buzz scores measure whether people have heard anything good or bad about a brand during the previous two weeks.
Samsung takes the top spot by some distance with an average Buzz score of +63.2. However, the rest of the top ten is heavily populated by consumer cosmetics brands, with Colgate taking second spot (+55.4), Dove in fourth (+50.9), cream silk in seventh (+42.3), Head & Shoulders in ninth (+35.6), and Cetaphil in tenth (+35.1).
YouGov BrandIndex interviews thousands of consumers every day, yielding over 6 million interviews each year. Respondents are drawn from our online panels of 5.6 million consumers across 32 markets. YouGov BrandIndex currently covers 139 brands in Philippines. Data was collected online between 1st January to 31st December 2017 using YouGov’s panel of over 5 million people worldwide.
