The new service will provide added convenience and options for Filipinos as they can choose to receive funds via their PayMaya mobile wallet in addition to visiting a Western Union agent location to pick up cash. As they avail of the PayMaya payout option, consumers will receive a real-time SMS notification once their money is paid into their account aside from being able to monitor through the transaction history within their PayMaya app.

After money is paid into the receiver’s account, they can then use their PayMaya app to pay bills, shop online, and buy discounted prepaid load from any telco provider. Similarly, they can use their PayMaya card to pay at retail outlets such as grocery and drug stores where card payments are accepted. Consumers can also withdraw their money through any Bancnet ATM nationwide, giving money transfer recipients more flexibility on how they receive and use their remittances.

PayMaya is a free app that gives users a reloadable mobile wallet, which allows them to send and receive money, pay their bills, and shop online without having a credit card. Users can download the PayMaya app from the App Store or Play Store, register, and then load up at any of the over 15,000 top up stations nationwide which include SM Business Centers, Robinsons Department Stores, 7-Eleven with Cliqq Kiosks, Petron stations along NLEX and Ministop with Touchpay Kiosks, UnionBank ATMs, Shopwise, Wellcome, 2Go outlets, Smart Padala centers, Palawan Pawnshop, and online banking via BDO and UnionBank.
