Wacom launches latest products in Phl market

Japanese-owned Wacom launched in the local market its latest products consisting of Wacom Mobile Studio Pro, Intuos Pro Tablet line, Cintiq Pro, Bamboo Folio and Bamboo Fineline.

According to Ong Khiaw Seng, Wacom’s senior director for marketing, Asia Pacific, Wacom delivers digital technologies that address creative workflow. Wacom is now offering devices with 4K display and 3D design and modeling support, he said.

The Wacom Mobile Studio Pro is a pen computer that is powered by Intel processor, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage and a 4K resolution display capable of running 2D, 3D, and CAD applications. It has a studio of creative applications, a lightweight mobile pen or the Wacom Pro Pen 2 and a wireless keyboard, designed for creative professionals who can work anywhere. This device comes in Pro 13 and 16 models.

The Wacom Intuos Pro, an 8-mm thick pen tablet that has Bluetooth connectivity so users can connect to a Mac or Windows computers. Packed with Wacom Pro Pen 2 and wireless keyboard, the device is available in two sizes.

Designed for professional artists and designers, the Wacom Cintiq Pro, a pen display, comes with the new Wacom Pro Pen 2 and up to 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution display, a tool for sketching and drawing. The device can be connected to any Mac or PC using a single USB-C cable to a USB-C port for both video and data.

With Bamboo Folio Smartpad, a user can write with pen on any paper and store, shape and share notes and ideas in the cloud as it can convert handwriting into digital files. The Bamboo Fineline, on the other hand, is a fine tip stylus designed for writing and note taking on iPad and iPhone.

A Memorandum of Agreement was also signed between Wacom Philippines and the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE).

According to Ong, the objective of the partnership is to serve the education sector by providing seminars regarding the adoption of devices and tools, and provide students with purchase discounts on these tools.

Regarding Philippine operations, Anton Malabanan, country manager at Wacom Philippines, said they are looking to generate a $2-million sales from April this year to March next year. To achieve this, Malabanan said they are collaborating with the education sector and photography market. They will also target animation and fashion design sectors.

Wacom Philippines currently distributes Wacom products through Axis Global Technologies and Bridge Distribution.
