Confident about the bright prospect of drones for both personal and commercial applications in the Philippines, IT distributor MSI-ECS Philippines launched the DJI brand of drones and aerial imaging solutions in the local market.
Through a partnership with DJI, a maker of drones and aerial imaging systems, MSI-ECS is now the authorized distributor of DJI products that include the smallest, most compact and foldable drone Mavic Pro; Phantom drone series; the ready-to-fly professional platform for filmmakers Inspire 2; as well as handheld gimbals from the Osmo series, through its over 50 resellers in the consumer electronics, photography, hobbyists and lifestyle channels nationwide.
A recent Gartner industry report showed that production of drones for personal and commercial use is growing rapidly, with global market revenue expected to reach more than $6-billion in 2017 and grow to more than $11.2-billion by 2020. For 2017, up to three million drones will be produced, 39% more than in 2016. Meanwhile, DJI cornered 70% share of the UAV market.
Jimmy Go, president and CEO at MSI-ECS Philippines, believes that drone usage will eventually gain momentum here. MSI-ECS eyes to make it more accessible to both consumers and businesses.

DJI added to the Phantom family recently, which is now available for pre-orders locally. The Phantom 4 Advanced, with a camera that captures aerial imagery, provides photographers a one-inch, 20-megapixel sensor and a mechanical shutter, and other features including Draw, Active Track, TapFly, Gesture, Tripod and the FlightAutonomy system. The Matrice 200 was also released recently.
Drones can serve various applications across a number of verticals. Some of its applications include coastline watching, agriculture, building/construction, research, search and rescue, powerline inspection, mapping, tourism, aerial analysis, real estate, and security and surveillance. The drones that MSI-ECS distribute have NTC permit/clearance, offer official product warranty and comply with every rules and regulations.
