Optimistic about the Philippine gaming market, China-based wireless peripherals producer Rapoo has announced the availability of its VPRO brand of gaming gear in the country.
Amid the growing competition in the market, Johnson Zhang, Regional Sales Director at Rapoo, is confident that their gaming products—which have their own strengths—will be able to compete with other brands that already have a customer base in the country.
For instance, Zhang said, Rapoo has its exclusive mode technology that can make its wireless keyboards change from gaming mode to office mode. “By pressing a button, you can easily change it to an office mode. Our keyboard is not only useful for games, it can also be used in the office.”
The company also has its own switches, said Zhang. Unlike other producers that use the Cherry-brand keys to provide switches, Rapoo ensures of its quality and designs using its own switches.
“We are one of the best automated manufacturers in China so we can provide the best design and also the best performing products to offer. With a strong design team, we can design and produce better products with good performance. That’s our strengths,” said Zhang.
Supporting Zhang’s statement, Aileen Chua, Rapoo Philippines Country Manager, claims their production processes are automated, which means “less errors and less RMA (return merchandise authorization), allowing us to be able to bring down our cost.” With this, Chua said, “we will definitely be able to compete with other brands.”
To grow its business in the country, the company will penetrate deeper into the market through in-store branding, product seeding, and forming partnerships with PC retailers. The company is also targeting internet cafes as they have products specifically designed for these kind of businesses.
Through Philippine distributors Techtron Systems and Philtec Enterprise, Inc., Rapoo has about 100 to 150 active resellers nationwide, most of which are in Metro Manila, according to Chua.
Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Leading the range of VPRO gaming peripherals launched is the VPRO V810 Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, which features a full mechanical keys and conflict-free design for all keys. It has mechanical key switches with a single key life up to 50-million operations and a non-conflict design for 108 keys on the keyboard that ensures every command is registered and executed.

It comes with a multi-level backlighting system and all keys on the keyboard are programmable in the game mode. The keyboard has five dedicated macro keys on the left-hand side of the keyboard for precisely timed maneuvers, and a built-in on-board memory.

On the gaming mouse segment, the VPRO V310 laser gaming mouse was launched together with V255, V280, and V26 models.

Headsets
Gaming headsets, including VPRO VH600 Virtual 7.1 and the entry-level VPRO VH200 Illuminated headset, were also launched. The VH600 features multi-function remote configuration free control; and intelligent VIB vibration unit that brings unparalleled shock experience. It also has a dual microphone and an Over-ear design which offers comfort, noise isolation.
