Cylance Inc., the company replacing traditional antivirus with AI-powered prevention that blocks everyday malware, announced that it earned the NSS Labs Recommended Rating in that organization’s first-ever Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP) test. The AEP test is the most comprehensive advanced endpoint security public test to date. CylancePROTECT achieved leading scores in both Efficacy and Total Cost of Ownership.
A Recommended rating from NSS indicates that a product has performed well and deserves strong consideration. Only the top technical products earn a Recommended rating from NSS Labs, regardless of market share, company size or brand recognition.
“We appreciate NSS Labs independently corroborating what our customers have been saying for years, that CylancePROTECT is a proven replacement for traditional antivirus with AI-powered prevention blocking today’s most advanced cyber threats,” said Chad Skipper, vice president of industry relations and product testing at Cylance. “This is a big step forward in evolving security testing methodologies to match real-world environments, and we look forward to more progress in the coming months and years.”
NSS Labs specifically looked for evasions that customers will face in the real world. CylancePROTECT was found to be easy to install and manage; a leader in effectively preventing new zero-day malware, memory attacks and scripting attacks and one of the most cost-effective solutions for complete ROI.
“We were pleased to work with Cylance and other vendors in producing an advanced endpoint security test methodology that takes into account advanced threats as well as the completely new ways of detecting and preventing them,” said Vikram Phatak, CEO at NSS Labs. “We believe this helps set a new standard in endpoint security testing and shows that Cylance is a capable product for defending against today’s new threats.”
The testing aimed to verify that the advanced endpoint product is capable of detecting, preventing and continuously logging threats accurately prior to, during and after execution while remaining resistant to false positives. The overall scoring of Cylance is at 99.69% efficacy after evasions were remediated.
