Emerson Network Power has relaunched in the Philippines as Vertiv following Platinum Equity’s acquisition of the Network Power business of Emerson for $4 billion last year.
With a new logo and brand identity, Vertiv intends to maintain its position as a partner for operators in data centers, communication networks and commercial and industrial facilities by improving its customer reach and innovations. Currently, the company has over 400 resellers across the Philippines.
“One of the key drivers for our success is partnering with local IT players that can help us reach more customers,” said Jason Lim, Philippines Country Manager at Vertiv. “For 2017, we will strive to become a more partner-oriented organization, working with local IT channels and system integrators to deliver our best-in-class solutions to more customers.”
Anand Sanghi, President at Vertiv Asia, says the company will continue to support its existing customers, employees, technologies and products. Its technical support, consisting of 800 people, will serve Vertiv in the Philippines.
The Philippines is a major market for Vertiv, with Manila serving as both the headquarters of the Philippine market unit and the regional operations center for Asia with employees performing key sales, technical and service support activities.
“The Philippines remains a key market for Vertiv,” notes Paul Churchill, Vice President, Southeast Asia Sales at Vertiv Asia. With a burgeoning ICT market, we see tremendous opportunities here because of digital innovation. We are committed to helping our Philippine customers achieve their goals and enable their digital strategies.”
For this year, Lim relayed that Vertiv will focus on the following verticals: banking and financial technology (fintech), business process outsourcing, manufacturing, telecommunications, and transportation. “These sectors are potential growth areas in the Philippines,” Lim said.
“We see growth potential in telecoms which comprises half of our businesses, and manufacturing. We’ll also focus on banking and fintech where data centers are expanding and more transactions will be conducted using their mobile applications. There is also a huge growth in BPO,” Lim claims.
This year, Vertiv will offer innovative solutions consisting of converged systems for edge of network applications, and integrated modular solutions, aside from power, thermal, information management solutions, and global-backed services.
“For 2017, we expect enterprises throughout the region to put more focus on optimizing and improving their critical infrastructure to support trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing,” said Churchill.
