One2Shop has been launched as the newest e-commerce destination for Filipino online shoppers. Up until now, the bulk of the “online shopping malls” available in the country have been mostly foreign, but One2Shop eyes to give these e-commerce websites a run for their money with the local touch.
According to a recent research conducted by Google, more than half of the population in the Asia Pacific region prefer to shop through mobile apps. Meanwhile, over 40% like to use their browser to visit their preferred e-commerce Web sites. In the US, this is also very reflective of the recent Black Friday shopping spree where 40% of the purchases were all done online.
“The opportunity to capture a meaningful portion of the market is definitely hard to pass on, especially since the coverage of shopping sites just keeps on growing,” One2Shop stated in a statement, stressing that it “aims to grow right alongside the growing e-commerce market, harnessing the power of both the web and various social media channels to better engage its target audience.”
One2Shop’s back-end is built on top of Amazon Web Services, and it relies on various social media channels and advertising networks to deliver its content and offerings to its users.
One2Shop will first be available through its official web site, one2shop.com, and then through the One2Shop mobile app for Android.
