Lazada to stage online shopping event in time for Christmas

Online shopping and selling portal Lazada is launching its Online Revolution Sale on November 11, with over 12,500 local and foreign brands, and 6,000 merchants participating, and a range of deals of up to 95% discount across a selection of brands and products. The sale event will run until December 12.

Having “Brands for All” as its theme, this year’s month-long online shopping event is Lazada’s fifth Online Revolution Sale since it was launched in 2012.

According to Inanc Balci, CEO at Lazada Philippines, the portal currently has a catalog of close to 30 million products for consumers across six Southeast Asian countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. In the Philippines, the assortment grew four times more than in 2015.

The upcoming sale event is expected to grow up to 12 times the revenues of Lazada’s merchants. In the P11 peso deals, up for grabs are a Virtual Reality Box, LED light bulb rotating lamp and a Genius gaming mouse. There are also limited-time flash deals which will feature a 32” Slim LED TV for P5,499; a Fujidenzo 20L microwave oven for P1,999; a Star Mobile 4.5” smartphone for P999; an HP deskjet printer for P888; and a L’Oreal lip and cheek palette set for P399.

These offerings extend to more than 17 product categories including fashion, health & beauty, home & living, and electronics.

Lazada also partnered with MasterCard for shoppers to get additional 12% off on top of discounted prices. Apart from this, Isuzu Philippines is giving away a brand new Isuzu D Max 4×4 pick-up, and Turkish Airlines is raffling air tickets for customers.

The sale event is expected to reach the number of visits to Lazada’s platform to more than 4.5-million.
