Torque Mobile launched its full line-up of Boost Edition for its EGO series designed for the budget smartphone market. Available starting this October, the line-up of EGO series, including the Torque EGO tablets, can be bought in all Torque concept stores or kiosks with prices ranging from P999 to P3,499.
Running on Android 4.4 Kitkat and powered by a 1GHz processor, the EGO Zero model sells for P999. Other specs of this model include a 3.5” HVGA touchscreen, 3MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, and a dual SIM.
Boosted by a 4G LTE mobile data and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the EGO Zoom 4G is sold at P3,499. It features an 8MP rear AF camera and 5MP front camera with Black LED Flash, 1.3GHz Quad-core processor, 8GB ROM and 1GB RAM.
Priced at P1,199, the EGO Beat TV has a built-in TV powered by a 1GHz Dual-core CPU, and 3MP rear and front camera.
Other EGO series with their prices are as follows: EGO Surf S for P1,799; EGO Max S for P2,099; EGO Surf i for P1,999; EGO Max i for P2,599; EGO Chat for P1,399; EGO Boost for P1,499; EGO Pro for P2,399; and EGO Max for P2,899.
On the EGO tablets segment, Tab S is priced at P1,699; Tab Q at P1,899; Phab at P2,199; and Phab 3G at P2,599.
According to Chris Uyco, CEO of Torque Mobile, these affordable smartphones and tablets are expected to cater to the 90% of the country’s population.
Ian Garcia, business sales head at Torque, expects for the EGO series to make their presence felt in the local market, especially during the Christmas season.
The company is now planning to enter into tie-ups in the field of software for developing platforms to be used in their products; and enter the sports industry to produce sport apparels with Torque branding.
Torque Mobile also built an exclusive platform for the community to interact. Called Torque EGO Speaks, it is a forum for users to post on a range of topics, concerns, and feedbacks.
