SecureData, provider of managed cybersecurity services, announced that it partnered with Cylance to offer its next-generation endpoint threat prevention product, CylancePROTECT.
With the addition of CylancePROTECT to SecureData’s portfolio of products and services, the company is responding to the evolving threat landscape. Cyber attacks are continuing to increase in frequency and severity, with web-borne attacks the most frequent, while the number of zero-day, APT and spear phishing attacks are also on the rise. With attacks becoming ever more complex, multifaceted and pre-tested against anti-virus (AV), legacy endpoint solutions can no longer be trusted to provide adequate levels of protection.
CylancePROTECT eliminates the need for traditional AV software, anti-exploit products, whitelisting solutions and host-based intrusion detection and prevention systems. Its transformational detection and blocking is based on a different technological approach to cybersecurity. Unlike reactionary signature, heuristics and behavior monitoring, which require an Internet connection, Cylance applies artificial intelligence to analyze a file’s characteristics and predict whether it is safe or a threat, preventing malicious files from ever executing on the local host.
CylancePROTECT is a lightweight agent that offers protection from system- and memory-based attacks, spear phishing, zero-day malware, privilege escalations, scripts and malicious and potentially unwanted programs, all without the high false positive rates, operational overhead and management complexity of other solutions.
CTO and founder of SecureData, Etienne Greeff, said: “Cylance is redefining what endpoint protection means. The threat vectors are constantly changing and organisations need to be agile in countering them. With the expertise of SecureData and the technology from Cylance, we have a strong partnership that delivers to our customers the very highest levels of security, across every endpoint.”
