NTT DATA Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. has acquired through its subsidiary NDAP 100% of outstanding shares in Wizardsgroup Inc. Following the acquisition, the company will now be known as NTT DATA Philippines Inc.
According to Pocholo Reyes, president and CEO of NTT DATA Philippines, this development is aligned with the company’s plan to expand outside of Japan, where the company is headquartered. And for this, “the Philippines is considered a key market,” he said.
Kenya Wada, NTT DATA Philippines’ director, said that the Philippines is an ideal market because “geographically, we can support our (existing) clients from here.” There is also a “growing demand in outsourcing in the country, and we can use (our) resources to grow/respond to other market demands (here).”
Already, and with the acquisition, the company has 230 people in the Philippines, with “immediate plans to ramp it up,” Reyes said.
Wizardsgroup is into IT consulting, and offers learning solutions for Oracle and Microsoft technologies mainly in the Philippine market. With over 20 years of experience in the local market, its core services include application development outsourcing and implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions.
NTT DATA Philippines now plans to “continue to pursue the same corporate direction that has distinguished Wizardsgroup across various sectors in the Philippine economy. We will build on NTT DATA’s group vision to be a ‘Global IT Innovator’ and build upon its world-class IT services to the fullest to drive businesses faster in the country and in the region,” said Reyes.
NTT DATA Philippines’ solutions package combines Wizardsgroup’s competency in deploying Microsoft technologies with the capabilities on Oracle Engineered Systems. It provides added value in consulting services across industries, as well as to software companies, system integrators, and IT service providers. Presently, NTT DATA Philippines has clients based in the telco, FSI/banking, oil and gas, healthcare, and manufacturing industries in the Philippines.
