The hike in demand for entry-level notebooks and an increase in IT spending in the Philippine market has encouraged Dell Philippines to launch new Vostro laptops in the country.
Citing figures from International Data Corporation (IDC), Christopher Papa, Country Manager at Dell Philippines, said the Philippines is the only SEA country that registered growth in the first quarter of the year where demand for notebook PCs grew by about 24%. While other regions reported declines in the shipment volume of notebooks, it is only in the Philippines where volume is increasing, he said.
The hike in shipment levels was attributed to the demand for entry-level notebooks coupled with the increase in IT spending. IDC sees the growth as an encouraging prelude to a positive market performance for the rest of the year.
Papa said IT spending in the Philippines will grow by 10% by the end of 2016, where a large chunk of which will be spent in the acquisition of hardware such as PCs, notebooks, networking services and so on and so forth.
Now is the time for digital transformation
Papa also said that it is now the time for Filipino enterprises, particularly SMEs, to adopt digital transformation so they can scale up the leadership, experience, information, operating models and workforce. He relayed that they should take the opportunity to use technology to access the digital marketplace and integrate their marketing by using digital platform to promote their products.
