Vivo launches premium mid-range phone in PH

Vivo V3 Max

China-based smartphone brand Vivo is pursuing the crowded local smartphone market with the launch of its V3 Max smartphone, the company’s first premium mid-range phone in the country which delivers “faster than faster” performance and other functions such as faster fingerprint unlocking, faster charging, quick-launch camera, and a smart split function. 

“The V3 Max is set to redefine the standards of a mid-range smartphone – we’re confident that Filipinos will appreciate the craftsmanship and performance that went into designing the V3 Max,” said Hazel Bascon, Vice President at Vivo Philippines.

Equipped with an innovative fingerprint scanner, the V3 Max allows users to unlock the device in as little as 0.2 second from wake and 0.5 second in sleep mode. It also sports a screen split feature that lets users multitask without having to exit their app.

Inside, the device is equipped with dual fast charging engine that is compatible with Qualcomm’s QC 2.0 international standard. This ensures compatibility with certified fast chargers in the market.

V3 Max has a refined metallic body with a zircon sand coating-finished back. The handset’s screen, which measures 5.5-inch in size and has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, is made of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, providing the phone a pleasant feel in the hand.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, V3 Max is packed with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage expandable via micro SD card up to 128GB.

The device runs on Funtouch OS 2.5, Vivo’s official operating system based on Android Lollipop 5.1.

The phone also boasts a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Its connectivity features consist of USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, and Wi-Fi.

Now available, the V3 Max can be bought in major retailers in Manila, Cebu, and Davao at a suggested retail price of Php16,990.

Bascon noted that Vivo will strive to bring more product options in the Philippines, being its third biggest market in the region. “We will showcase Vivo brand as more Filipino customers look for us.”
