Sony has announced fresh additions to its audio line-up with a new family of h.ear headphones and the world’s smallest High-Resolution Audio wireless speaker. A match for the Walkman, MP3 player, phone or tablet, h.ear utilizes LDAC, an audio coding technology for the transmission of High-Resolution Audio. LDAC supports several transmission rates according to wireless environment. It allows users to enjoy High-Resolution Audio content by transmitting at the maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps (approximately three times more data than conventional Bluetooth audio).
A signature of the h.ear range, all new models are available in five colors – Viridian Blue, Cinnabar Red, Charcoal Black, Lime Yellow and Bordeaux Pink. From the body of the unit to its cable, components are made from different materials or have different finishes created in the same color.
h.ear go is the world’s smallest portable wireless speaker that is High-Resolution Audio compatible. h.ear go is a 35mm diameter High-Resolution full-range speaker unit. The left and right channel speaker chambers are complemented by dual passive radiators that extend low-end response. This has EXTRA BASS and built-in support for Google Cast and Spotify Connect. It also has 12 hours battery life, wireless connectivity enabled through Bluetooth and One-touch listening via NFC, and wired connection options with USB-B and Audio In also available.
h.ear on Wireless NC: Bluetooth headphones has digital noise cancelling that makes ambient sounds fade away. It has a 20-hour battery life, and is powered by a 40 mm HD driver unit. Audio quality is further enhanced by coating the diaphragm domes with titanium to suppress unwanted vibrations and reproduce clear sound.
Specially designed ear pads boost wear comfort while minimizing sound leakage. h.ear in Wireless is an in-ear Bluetooth behind-the-neck style headphone. Equipped with a 9mm driver unit, h.ear in Wireless has an outer magnetic path-type magnetic circuit to maximize the driver output. h.ear in Wireless also has an in-built microphone and HD voice support for hands-free calling on a smartphone. There is also a regular minijack input for direct connection to a phone or MP3 player.
The h.ear on (P15,999) and h.ear in (P8,999) headphones is now available in select Sony Centers and Egghead outlets, while the h.ear go wireless speaker will be available in Sony Centers nationwide from Q3 2016.
