Flash storage assembler Nimble Storage has recently introduced to the local market the Predictive Flash Platform, which combines flash performance with predictive analytics to predict and prevent barriers to data delivery even if they are not storage-related.
Theo Hourmouzis, Director of Channel Sales, Asia Pacific and Japan at Nimble Storage, in his presentation, noted that complex infrastructure which creates an app-data gap slows down the delivery of data. This gap between the delivery of data and the application that users are requesting it from is the challenge Nimble Storage is trying to address.
The cause of the slowdown was identified as not mostly storage-related but more on configuration issues. Knowing what causing the gap and how to close it to avoid disruption in data delivery, Nimble Storage developed the Predictive Flash Platform that utilizes flash architecture and predictive analytics in conjunction with all flash array and adaptive flash array.
Hourmouzis said that Nimble Storage’s Predictive Flash Platform delivers non-stop availability, better performance and agility. It prevents storage issues, avoids downtime, predicts future needs, simplifies planning, and lowers total cost of ownership as it optimizes the use of flash with disk.
This completely game-changing solution boasts data protection features. It has the ability to retain backups and replicate to adaptive flash without the use of additional software, encrypt data and secure data shredding. It also has a Triple+ Parity feature which tolerates simultaneous failures.
Nimble Storage started marketing its products in the Philippines in 2012. Catering to all industries, the company is currently serving over 40 customers with more than 60 Nimble infrastructure installations in Metro Manila, Subic, and Cebu, according to Rachel Ler, Managing Director, ASEAN, at Nimble Storage.
Ler noted various factors that boost the installation of Nimble Storage’s Flash Platform in the worksites of local companies. Among these are: lower total cost of ownership due to data center space, cheaper communication cost and reduced power cost; legacy competitors have become complacent and lack innovation; strong distribution and reseller community; high customer satisfaction; industry support; and Cisco partnership.
Meanwhile, Nimble Storage has appointed MSI-ECS as its distributor in the Philippines.
“The addition of Nimble Storage is a perfect fit to our growing converged infrastructure and storage portfolio,” said Jimmy D. Go, President and CEO at MSI-ECS. “The availability of these architectures minimizes the challenges associated with deploying application, server, hypervisor, networking, and storage components as an integrated solution.”
