Facebook announced new features for Facebook Live that give people more ways to discover, share, and interact with live video, and more ways to personalize live broadcasts. These features will be rolling out on iOS and Android over the coming weeks.
Here is a summary of the new features Facebook is rolling out:
· Live for Groups and Events: To make it easier to share live video with certain people, you can now broadcast live video to a specific Group or Event.
Interactive Features
o Live Reactions: Express your feelings (Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry) in real time during a live video broadcast and the reactions will animate right on top of the video
o Replay Comments: People comment 10 times more on Facebook Live videos than on regular video. If you’re watching a live video after the fact, you’ll be able to see comments as they occurred during the live broadcast, so you feel “in” on the action.
o Live Filters & Doodling: Starting today, you’ll have access to five filters that you can use to personalize your live broadcasts. Coming soon, you’ll be able to draw or doodle on your video while live.
o Invite Friends: To invite a friend to watch a live video, tap on the Invite icon to the right of a live video and they’ll receive a push notification.
o Live Video Destination: This is a dedicated place to discover live video that the world is talking about, live video from the friends and creators that matter most to you, and live video on topics you’re interested in. You can search live and non-live videos.
o Live Map: On desktop, you’ll have a visual way to explore public live broadcasts currently happening in more than 60 countries around the world.
