Wizdy Pets, a new educational mobile game, empowers kids to understand and control asthma.
With kids spending an average of 13 hours a week playing games, Wizdy is putting that gaming time to good use by combining educational health and lifestyle content with fun. In the game, kids adopt their very own Wizdy pet, a fire-breathing dragon that wants to blow fire like all of its friends, but can’t because it has asthma. It’s up to kids to care for their pet’s asthma, the same way they would manage their own asthma, so that it can blow fire and defeat the smog monster.
Wizdy Pets is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and will soon be available on Amazon.
The team that developed the game collaborated with asthma specialists from Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital to teach kids the most important aspects of proper asthma care; inhaler technique and timing, trigger identification and avoidance; and symptom recognition and the appropriate actions to avoid asthma attacks.
Wizdy was co-founded by Nikita Virani and Sean Chung. Wizdy is a brand of LifeGuard Games Inc.
