GrabTaxi has launched GrabExpress, a new on-demand delivery service targeted at startups or small businesses that cannot afford to hire a regular messenger. But the service is available to anyone who needs to send a parcel or document to someone within select Metro Manila areas.
Using the GrabTaxi app, all you have to do is select the GrabExpress icon then input the pick-up and drop-off points for your delivery. Key in the recipient’s name and contact number in the notes section, as well as other important details such as landmarks and gate numbers so that the rider will find his destination easier and faster.
After confirming the booking, you and your recipient can track your package’s status and whereabouts real-time. Pay the rider the fixed price shown in the app, starting at Php80 for the first 5 kilometers.
GrabExpress can be used for packages that are less than five kilograms with dimensions not exceeding 28x32x12cm. It is available on Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 8pm in Alabang, Makati, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Pasig, Pateros, Pasay, Paranaque, San Juan, Taguig, and Quezon City (districts 1, 3, 4 and 6).
The items for delivery are insured up to Php2,000.
“We’ve been testing the beta version of GrabExpress these past few months and we are now confident that it can provide a hassle-free and affordable delivery service for everyone’s personal or business needs,” says GrabExpress Head, Angeline Tham.
“With GrabExpress, the GrabTaxi app provides not only an innovative way of moving people but also of things. When GrabExpress was conceptualized, the first customers we had in mind were the small businesses that we could help. As a tech company, we want to enable e-commerce and broaden the reach of these startup businesses.”
