In recent years, cyber-attacks have proliferated, targeting government and commercial entities of all sizes and compromising confidential and personal information. IT environments are rapidly moving towards the cloud, virtualization, and Internet of Things (IoT), increasing the risks. These new technologies are making cyber-attacks more advanced and complex, demanding enhanced security knowledge and expertise to create a safer world. As a leading company in Internet security, Trend Micro, through this event, aims to promote the use of technical expertise to advance the internet community.

Trend Micro CTF consists of online qualifiers to be held in August 2015. The finals will then be held in Tokyo, Japan in November. The overall event will include challenge categories such as targeted attacks, IoT and ICS/SCADA, reflecting the current and future IT environments*². The winning team will be awarded JPY 1,000,000 and automatic qualification to ‘HITCON CTF 2015 FINAL’ to be held in Taipei in December 2015.

Those who are interested in participating can register now to the day of the event.

Interested participants should be registered by a team leader on the Trend Micro website. After registering, email instructions will be sent to team members once the score server is ready. The score server is a system where participants may log in, retrieve challenges, and view everyone else’s scores.

Dates: 22-23 August 2015 (Duration: 24 hours)

Requirements:

  • Residents in Asia Pacific & Japan countries and regions *²
  • Adults aged over 20

Who is eligible to participate: Top 10 groups (of up to four members each) qualified from online qualifier
Program: Attack and Defense (further details to be announced)
Prizes:

  • The winners: 1,000,000JPY and automatic qualification for HITCON CTF 2015 FINAL
  • Second place: 300,000JPY
  • Third place: 200,000JPY
