Infortrend announces EonStor DS 4024B storage systems

Infortrend Technology Inc. has announced EonStor DS 4024B small form factor (SFF) storage systems utilizing 2.5″ drives. They allow for high density storage with lower space requirements and modest power consumption while retaining the advantage of EonStor DS 4000 series such as fast read and write speeds, dual host board design and all-around 12Gb/s SAS support.

Packing 24 2.5″ drives into a 2U chassis, EonStor DS 4024B systems offer higher storage density compared to 3.5″ drive based units. The lower space requirements allow companies to make effective use of the datacenter floor area. The SFF systems designed for 2.5″ drives also draw less electricity for power savings and environmentally-friendly operation.

Being one of the members of EonStor DS 4,000 series, EonStor DS 4024B systems may reach 11,000MB/s read and 4,200MB/s write performances; the figures are ranked highly for mid-range storage systems. The innovative dual host board design can accelerate performance and maximize connection versatility for hosts, supporting variety of hybrid host connections.

Another main feature of EonStor DS 4024B and EonStor DS 4000 series is the all-around 12Gb/s SAS support. The 12Gb/s SAS technology throughput has been implemented in drives, host and expansion port connection. In addition, their corresponding expansion enclosures are also true 12Gb/s SAS ready storage systems.

“EonStor DS 4024B represents a new era of 2.5″ drive dedicated storage systems. Its 12Gb/s SAS performance and versatile dual host design will offer our customers a new high density storage experience,” said Thomas Kao, senior director of product planning at Infortrend.

The corresponding expansion enclosures (JB 3024B) featuring 12Gb/s ready technology and 2.5″ drive support will be released, simultaneously.
