China-based OPPO, the company that was first to make a smartphone with an automated swivel camera, expanded anew its lineup of mobile devices with three new smartphones, namely the OPPO Joy Plus, OPPO Neo 5 and the OPPO R1x.
Among the trio, OPPO Joy Plus is the most budget-friendly with a selling price of Php4,990. Available in white and blue colors, the phone sports a 3-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera, and runs on Color OS 2.0 which is based on Android 4.4. Color OS 2.0 brings screen-off gestures and gesture screenshots, providing users with a faster and more convenient user experience.
Joy Plus boasts a double exposure feature where two images can be overlapped to transform photography into art; and can capture different moods and emotional states using its Beautify Mode. It also has a Plug-In platform so users can customize their photography to meet their needs.
Powered by a 1.3GHz processor, Joy Plus has a 4GB of storage for photos, videos, and other applications, and a 1GB RAM. The device sports a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800-pixel, with dual SIM slots and energized by a1700mAh Li-Ion battery.
Joy Plus features the new generation Pure Image 2.0+ that when taking photos, it adjusts the white balance, brightness, auto-focus, face recognition along with other variables to produce the best shot on the go.
Neo 5
Next is the OPPO Neo 5, which is considered affordable at P7,990. Also available in white and blue, the Neo 5 comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera, and powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core CPU on top of 8GB of memory and 1GB of RAM, and 2000mAh battery.
Having 480 x 854-pixel of resolution, the device’s 4.50-inch display is comfortable to hold and use. Its ultra-sensitive touch screen is scratch-resistant and can be used even if the user’s hands are gloved or wet.
Like Joy Plus, Neo 5 also runs on Android 4.4-based Color OS 2.0 and has Beautify Mode, Pure Image 2.0+, and Double exposure features.
With Neo 5, a user can shoot photos while using the audio capabilities to record personal comments or messages when capturing each shot. And with its Screen-off Gesture 2.0, one can activate his mobile phone or launch an app with a gesture.
OPPO R1x
The OPPO R1x is the real stunner among the three with its eye-catching back panel. Available in white and black, the handset sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor and runs on Android 4.4-based Color OS 2.0.
Priced at Php15,990, R1x is packed with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory with an optional slot for up to 128GB additional storage. It also has a dual SIM slot and a 2420mAh capacity battery.
The device is equipped with a thinner and lighter high-definition screen which measures 5-inch and has a resolution of 720 x 1280-pixel. Its aluminum-magnesium alloy frame weighs in at only 130 grams and has a thinner body at 6.8mm for ease of use.
R1x also has Beautify Mode, Pure Image 2.0+, Double Exposure and After Focus features.
