UK search engine optimization firm Wildshark has launched an innovative spider tool that will help SEO professionals ensure their sites are free from crawl errors and are primed for high rankings. The tool was specifically designed to boost online marketing strategies and was developed by SEO professionals; people who know what is required from SEO software.
The SEO Spider Tool is available as a free download from the company’s website, at http://www.wildshark.co.uk/seo-spider/.
Wildshark said the new tool will work with Windows Vista, 7 and 8 and there is no limit on the size of sites it will crawl – big or small, it will check them all. SEO professionals will then be able to analyse crawl results, as the spider tool will provide an advanced report after it has run.
The tool was developed with efficiency in mind, and therefore focuses on key elements in a crawl rather than being loaded with large numbers of features that most likely would not be relevant to SEO professionals’ needs. The tool therefore looks at: internal URLs, including checks on the meta description, Google Analytics and broken links; external URLs; redirects; and rich snippets, encompassing page URL and article section, among others.
The SEO spider tool will also examine: keyword search, including how a page appears in search engine results; speed – response time as well as compression, and other aspects; and exporting, downloading detailed reports in a variety of formats.
Mark Preston, director and founder of Wildshark, said that in developing the new tool, the company relied on its own intuition and experience in order to produce software that was highly effective.
“I have been in the SEO game for over 15 years now and in that time I have used and tested all the SEO tools available. Some are really bad but there are a handful that I really like. The only problem is that with each tool there is always something that I need that is not within the tool,” he said.
“I thought the only way I am going to get exactly what I want is to develop it myself, so I hired a fantastic software developer and he moved his whole life over from the Netherlands to Lytham St Annes in Lancashire to come and work for us.”
The result, said Preston, was a piece of SEO software developed by professionals for professionals.
“This was a fantastic moment for Wildshark as it meant that we could now develop a range of SEO tools that we know SEO professionals will want to use. Why? Because we use the exact same tools ourselves every day,” he said.
This piece of software has many advantages, including an overview of what errors exist and more importantly, where these errors can be located.
