A new zero-day vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe Flash which is being exploited in the wild.
This vulnerability can be exploited by cybercriminals using the Angler Exploit Kit to install malware onto computers. Visiting a compromised website can install malware onto the machine via the exploit and no action is needed on the users’ part to become infected.
As a best practice, Symantec recommends that users reduce their exposure to vulnerabilities by turning off any plug-ins or extensions, which they do not use on a regular basis. For users of affected versions of Internet Explorer, below is an infographic showing a simple temporary fix for consumers to protect themselves.
