Sony Philippines has launched its latest line of 4k digital imaging devices which include cameras, projectors, camcorders, and visual presenters intended for the professional market.
A 4k visual presentation solution “Vision Presenter,” PWS-VP100 makes it possible to display data from multiple source material.
Through Vision Presenter, interactive operation can performed regardless of where the system is located and be controlled through either a conventional wireless mouse or tablets. Using professional WUXGA projectors, Vision Presenter allows images from two projectors to be tiled seamlessly to create super-sized image displays up to 3552 x 1200.
Vision Presenter can control PTZ cameras, the SRG series (SRG-120HD, SRG-300H) and BRC series (BRC-H900, BRC-Z700, BRC-Z330), through a remote control function pop-up on the screen.
Wi-Fi compatible videoconferencing system
Launched also is a new Wi-Fi compatible videoconferencing system, the PCS-XC1, which delivers a resolution of 1080 pixels at up to 60 frames per second and offers high image and sound quality. The system’s Exmor CMOS sensor and View-DR technology achieves the brightness of each pixel adjusts to compensate for shadows and highlights. The PTZ camera can be adjusted flexibly to provide any desired viewing angle.
Weighing 1.8 kg, PCS-XC1 is easy to carry. With the optional wireless software PCSA-WXC1 and a USB wireless module, conferences can be accessed on the go easy.
The optional HD-Booster software PCSA-RXC1 allows to transmit HD-conference and a H.239-compliant monitor image at 30 frames per second and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 each time. The sound optimization of the PCS-XC1 compensates for ambient noise and th microphone positioning to deliver high-quality sound.
New projectors
Boasting of 7,000 lumens with 3LCD color brightness, the new FHZ700L projector is intended for large venue commercial spaces in education, corporate, theme park and museum applications. It delivers 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution, instant on/off, tilt-angle-free design, edge blending, wide range vertical/horizontal lens shift, advanced geometric correction, and up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. Now available, the projector also offers integration flexibility, with multiple interfaces and seven optional lenses.
Available on the VPL-FHZ700L is an optional slot-in HDBaseT board which enables easier connectivity and reducing total system costs by using fewer cables, signal extenders and receiver boxes, and lower risk of failure points.
Installation projectors
Sony has enhanced its popular line-up of C-series installation projectors, VPL-CH350/CH355 and VPL-CH370/375. Designed for the education and corporate markets, these projectors feature 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution in the same chassis and use a new 0.64” size 3LCD BrightEra panel to produce high brightness of 5,000 lumens color light output (4,000 lumens for the VPL-CH355, CH350) and sharp image reproduction.
Equipped with HDBaseT, the VPL-CH375 and VPL-CH355 allows multiple signals to pass through a single cable, thus simplifying the installation process by reducing the number of connections to the projector.
The C-series projectors will be available in the local market in November 2014.
The new VPL-D100 and VPL-E200 series projectors have also been upgraded to include a long-lasting lamp replacement time of 10,000 hours, an enhancement of 43% from previous models. These projectors also feature the Auto Brightness Adjustment function which automatically adjusts the lamp’s output according to the brightness of the projected image, aside from the Auto Lamp Control Technology and Picture Blank function for significantly lower total cost of ownership.
The D- and E-series projectors can run off presentations wirelessly via most tablet and smartphone of all sizes by the presenter and other audiences through Pixelworks’ VueMagic Mobile Presenter application.
Cameras
The new PXW-FS7 is the first 4k XDCAM camera to feature a Super35 CMOS sensor with 8.8-million effective pixels that can capture great image quality without the need for significant lighting support. Designed for documentary, music video, online content creators and corporate filmmakers who have penchant for picture quality, the camera supports QFHD up to 60 fps at launch, with an upgrade to 4K (4,096 x 2,160) resolution.
A flexible 4k camera, the PXW-FS7 is compatible across recording codecs such as the Sony’s new XAVC Intra and XAVC Long GOP formats which both support 10-bit 4.2:2 recording for full HD recording; SlowMotion which supports up to 180 fps or even full HD with 60/50 progressive frames; Apple ProRes 422 codec using the optional extension unit XDCA-FS7; and with Sony’s HXR-IFR5 and AXS-R5, or a compatible party external recorder using the XDCA-FS7’s Raw interface.
The camera, which was available in Asia-Pacific end-September this year, uses E-mount lens system and has introduced the VCT-FS7, a lightweight rods support for easy mobility and choice of shooting style. PXW-FS7 also supports simultaneous recording and relay recording with its two XQD card slots. It has a low-pass video filter, progressive pixel reading and advanced camera processing which provide a broad span of creative treatments and benefits such as high speed recording, high resolution, high sensitivity, less aliasing and less rolling shutter.
Camcorders
A camcorder that comes after PMW-200, the PXW-X200 XDCAM offers an outstanding image quality provided by three ½ inch-type Exmor CMOS sensors and MPEG HD422 (50 Mbps) recording capability. The CMOS sensors produce full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) without pixel interpolation, while the image sensor has 2.07-million effective pixels.
To be available in November this year, the camcorder uses a newly-developed 17 times zoom lens that can zoom from 29.3 mm to 499 mm (35 mm equivalent), which is enough to cover most events and other applications. The lens also boasts three manual Zoom/Focus/Iris independent control rings, each with a physical end-stop and absolute markings for precise adjustments by the user in professional shooting operations.
The camcorder is equipped with wireless functions including one-touch NFC capability. By attaching the supplied IFU-WLM3 wireless module, remote control and monitoring functions can be performed from a tablet or smartphone using the Content Browser mobile applications. Besides, by connecting with separately sold Internet routers, proxy or high resolution files can be transferred to a cloud server to start the editing process even if the location shoot continues. It also supports high quality XAVC.
PXW-X160
PXW-X160 features three 1/3 full HD Exmor CMOS sensors and a newly developed 25x optical zoom G-Lens that extends from a 26 mm angle of view at the wide end of its 25x zoom range (35 mm equivalent: 26 mm to 650 mm). The Exmor 3CMOS sensor system provides 1/3 CMOS image sensors for the red, blue and green color channels, each with 2.07 effective megapixels.
Aside from being compatible with XAVC Intra/Long GOP, the camcorder enables 10-bit sampling for HD recordings as well as MPEG HD422 at 50 Mbps. It can also record in MPEG HD420 at 35 Mbps, AVCHD, and DV formats.
The camcorder also supports SxS, XQD and SD memory cards and memory stick to provide compatibility with a variety of workflows; features a variable ND filter to facilitate shooting techniques, and equipped with a 3.5 type LCD panel and 0.5 type OLED viewfinder to provide easy viewing in a wide range of lighting conditions.
PXW-X70
Known as the first compact XDCAM professional camcorder ever produced, PXW-X70 features a 1.0 type Exmor R CMOS sensor with 14.2 million effective pixels, and Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T lens which offers a 12x Optical Zoom that can be increased to 24x, for stunning picture quality. Zoom performance can be doubled at any point with a Digital Extender by up to 48x.
The camcorder provides recording format capabilities including XAVC, AVCHD and DV, and has a built-in Wi-Fi control functionality for monitoring and remote control. Weighing less than 1.4kg, the camcorder is packed with XLR handle unit, battery (NP-FV70), lens hood and large eye-cup, 3G-SDI and HDMI output connectors plus an XLR x 2 handle unit with zoom lever.
Other features include a manual lens ring, ergonomic palm grip with large zoom lever, one MS/SD memory card slot and one SD memory card slot for backup, simultaneous and relay recording, and a four-position ND filter.
