In the pursuit of bringing together stakeholders from various verticals in a dynamic exchange of ideas and expert opinion on cloud technology, IPC (IP Converge Data Services, Inc.) will be hosting the first-ever Philippine Cloud Summit on September 25 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The event will gather a diverse range of audiences coming from various sectors and industries that include the government, IT, and enterprise, among others.

“The vision behind this summit is to round up some of the best minds in cloud computing to share their valuable expertise so that different sectors may learn exactly how the Cloud can not only improve the way we do business but, ultimately, pave the way towards an empowered Philippines. With cloud computing redefining how we do things, this summit offers a venue for gaining insights and best practices in this new frontier that melds business with technology,” said IPC President Rene Huergas.

Highlight of the event is the centerpiece talk of Randy Bias, one of the global leaders in cloud computing. Known as one of the early proponents of transitioning IT from mainframe to enterprise computing and then to cloud, Bias has over two decades of expert experience in spearheading innovations in infrastructure, IT, operations, and 24×7 service delivery.

For his pioneering work in the field, Bias has been named by The Next Web as one of the 25 Most Influential People Tweeting About Cloud. He was also in TechTarget’s top 10 Cloud Computing leaders for 2011, as well as being cited by InformationWeek as a top 10 cloud computing pioneer in 2012.

Joining Bias are other industry experts who will give their respective talks on various aspects of cloud computing, ranging from business-to-business transactions, customer satisfaction and exploring other platforms on which to deliver their goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.

“We’re very excited in putting together this revolutionary event. We encourage decision makers to join us on this day and expand their knowledge and perspective on what is considered the “holy grail” of enterprises today ― the Cloud,“ said Huergas.

To cater to the different interest groups, the event is divided into two sessions, one in the morning, and another in the afternoon.  The morning segment will tackle customer impact with the cloud-based business platform, while the afternoon will be devoted to exploring further on making the switch from physical to virtual platforms as well as sustaining customer satisfaction with Software as a Service (SaaS).
