The Asus Transformer Book Flip series, a laptop with a rotating touchscreen display; and the Asus Transformer Book T100, a 2-in-1 ultraportable laptop with a 10-inch display, have been launched by Asus Philippines.
The Flips’ 1920×1080 resolution-display has a hinge that allows the user to rotate it freely up to 360-degree from the fully-closed position. This hinge has four gears that provide a smooth, stop-less movement so screen stays exactly where the user wants it while making it effortless to adjust.
From standard laptop mode, its screen can be flipped to transform into a tablet, a media stand or a shared viewer.
When used in a non-laptop mode, the device’s automatic keyboard and touchpad lock must be activated so users can avoid having problems with unwanted input.
The seamless one-piece chiclet keyboard is ergonomically designed for optimum typing feel, while the large multi-touch touchpad supports Smart Gestures for precise and natural fingertip control.
The high-precision 6mm-diameter actuators, which are more than twice as sensitive as the 9mm industry standard, make Flips’ touchscreen accurate and responsive. Rich and vibrant colors are also produced for any kind of content.
Aside from these features, Flips has a compact aluminum chassis which was designed to make it look stylish and smart while giving it strength, durability and elegance.
Powered by energy-efficient Intel Core up to i7 processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce 820 discrete graphics with 4GB of video memory, Flips can perform seamless multitasking whether for productivity, entertainment or playing the latest games. The device, which is already available in the market, has two screen sizes a user can choose from: 13.3-inch and 15.5-inch. It runs Windows 8.1 operating system.
The company says that the device’s exclusive SonicMaster audio makes Flips a perfect multimedia partner with every song, movie or game sounding better. The best audio quality is provided by its speakers and resonance chambers which are larger than those with standard laptops. Besides, the audio provides deeper and richer bass, a wider frequency range, distinct vocals, and pristine clarity.
The Flip series rely on Instant On technology that takes only two seconds for Flips to resume from sleep, and users don’t need to worry about losing data when in sleep mode for up to 14 days when the Lithium-polymer battery’s charge drops below 5% as files and data are automatically backed up.
Flips are equipped with a battery life of eight hours.
Flips also boast of ASUS Web Storage that offers users free access to the most complete platform for online living. This makes files and documents accessible anywhere from a host of devices. The device also has cloud services which provide users easy storage, sharing and syncing of everything from business presentations to photo albums and favorite multimedia content.
