Telco pushes for cloud adoption across industries

Globe Telecom through its newly-created IT Enabled Services Group of Globe (IG) will now offer Google Apps for Business.

Enabling organizations of all sizes to heighten their productivity and collaboration, Globe Telecom through its newly-created IT Enabled Services Group of Globe (IG) will now offer Google Apps for Business, a set of cloud-based communication and collaboration tools from Google designed to help people work from anywhere on any device.

With Google Apps for Business, employees can use intuitive consumer technology like Gmail and Google+ Hangouts at work. They can create, share and work on files with the whole team in real-time with Google Docs, Sheets and Slides and store them all in the cloud with Google Drive.

Being cloud-based, Google Apps for Business provide significant advantages offering flexibility and security to a company. Because the entire solution is accessed through a browser, there is no hardware or software to purchase, install, or update on-site.   Google Apps for Business enables new ways of collaborating, resulting in higher productivity and more connected teams and also ideal for workers assigned in different locations, stimulates productivity from email, search and mobile compatibility.

For instance, team members can work together on one document, spreadsheet or presentation at the same time, ensuring everyone is using the most up-to-date version. They can stay connected from almost any device with chat functions that can include text, audio, or video. Calendars can be easily shared for smarter, easier scheduling which can carry video chat links for virtual meetings.

Customers also benefit from Google’s rapid innovation of new products and features as they immediately derive more value as new features are added across the product suite.  Switching to Google Apps for Business is easy for IT and for end-users. With data migration capabilities for all common legacy systems included in Globe’s deployment services, companies can transition quickly and with minimal disruption.  There are also hundreds of applications in the Google Apps Marketplace — from accounting software to project management tools.

Google Apps for Business is offered to enterprises and large companies at P210 per Google Apps user for a one-year contract period plus an option to avail of deployment services from Globe. Small and medium businesses on the other hand can avail it at P2,229 a month with three Google Apps licenses, up to 5Mbps Globe myBusiness Internet, 4-port modem with Wi-Fi, a landline with unlimited calls to Globe/TM for a lock-in period of 24 months, plus a smartphone which is available until supplies last.
