Leading telecoms service provider PLDT, through its enterprise arm PLDT ALPHA Enterprise, has recently sealed a partnership with Korea-based telecoms firm IT.Corea in providing integrated connectivity service to the growing Korean community in the country.
“By tapping PLDT’s robust international and domestic high speed fiber network, IT.Corea will be able to provide the Philippine-based Korean community with business and communications solutions for their various needs. Through this partnership, Koreans in the country will be able to avail and communicate their IT requirements without the language constraints from coordinating with local firms,” said PLDT FVP and ALPHA Enterprise Head Jovy Hernandez.
Aside from partnering for PLDT’s Managed IPL and domestic Metro Ethernet services to link the Korean firms’ multiple locations, IT.Corea is also the only Korean IT company in the Philippines to offer information data center services to benefit Korean-owned businesses through PLDT’s network of world-class VITRO Data Centers.
“We appreciate how PLDT has changed the people’s lifestyles through communications. Together with PLDT, we enable Koreans to have easier access to the communications solutions that they require, whether for business and personal use,” said IT.Corea Chairman Jae J. Jang. “Through this partnership, we look forward in providing Koreans in the Philippines with the most expert and efficient service.”
The Department of Tourism (DOT) has recently reported South Korea as having the most visitors flying in to the country reaching almost one million in the first three quarters of last year, contributing 25% of total foreign arrivals in the Philippines.
“We work with many Korean organizations in the Philippines such as the various chambers of commerce and student associations to establish greater communications and connectivity within the Korean community,” shared IT.Corea CEO Jin Su Kim.
While many Koreans come to the Philippines as English language students, others have been attracted by business opportunities in various industries, such as manufacturing, import and export, and food service. Through IT.Corea, community members can now avail landlines for their home or business, mobile pre-paid lines, and Internet from PLDT, and avoid application issues like the language barrier in acquiring these services.
“There are so many things that our companies can do in synergy and the great thing about this kind of collaboration is that both PLDT and IT.Corea play an active role in ensuring that our customers get the right solutions for their needs,” shared PLDT’s Jovy Hernandez.
