Autodesk sums up 2013 initiatives, eyes 2014 growth

As it eyes to further grow in 2014, Autodesk has summed up its 2013 achievements that focused on “empowering design-related industries – and even the community – for them to achieve their respective bottom lines more effectively and efficiently through the power of design.”

As it eyes to further grow in 2014, Autodesk has summed up its 2013 achievements that focused on “empowering design-related industries – and even the community – for them to achieve their respective bottom lines more effectively and efficiently through the power of design.”

While he year 2013 saw the new look of Autodesk, as designers from Autodesk drew inspiration in origami, beyond appearances, the company also launched its rental plans, which allows customers to purchase access to a range of Autodesk desktop software on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, thereby allowing customers to have options to get started with Autodesk software with virtually no up-front capital costs, and to quickly ramp up projects using the solutions from the company.

Last year also gave Autodesk opportunity to aid local designers from the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector via the first AEC Conference in Manila. The day-long conference discussed the current industry trends, challenges and the infrastructure opportunities in Philippines and the role and value of Autodesk’s BIM (building information modeling) methodology. The conference also featured Autodesk 2014 solutions for building design, construction, infrastructure and process plant industry.

To push awareness and understanding of the benefits of leveraging on Autodesk’s solutions in the manufacturing industry, Autodesk partnered with Philippine-based Tech Converge Inc. A “Manufacturing Solutions” event was also staged, which served as an arena for Autodesk to armed industry practitioners with Autodesk new Digital Prototyping solutions. Through this roster of offerings, manufacturers can now utilize access to the Autodesk portfolio.

Meanwhile, the Philippines’ Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) partnered with Autodesk in 2013 to advance the learning environment in the Philippine technical vocational education and training (TVET) institutions through the use of Autodesk design software. This partnership offers Filipino students free access to Autodesk education software in TESDA-owned institutions as well as its network of public and private TVET institutions all over the country.
