Emerson Network Power has announced aggressive plans to target new market verticals in 2014, under the direction of Hans Bayaborda, recently appointed as new country manager for Emerson Network Power in the Philippines.

Bayaborda will report directly to Gene Hayden, vice president and general manager for sales, Emerson Network Power in Asia, who will in turn ensure that sufficient support and resources are in place as the Philippine office makes a strong push for industries outside their core market.

“Our Philippine business was one of the top performers across the Asian region over the past fiscal year, with our local team landing high-profile infrastructure projects that promote our main value proposition of business-critical continuity,” said Hayden. “Hans is a seasoned industry veteran with significant experience in hardware, software and services, and his understanding of adopting innovations as a way to wrest competitive advantage will be key to growing the local market unit further.”

Bayaborda has close to 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT industry, having worked for Oracle Corporation and Bayantel. He most recently served as the International Finance Organizations(IFO) public sector director covering Asia and North Africa at Hewlett Packard.

“With Emerson Network Power’s Asia operations headquartered in the Philippines, it’s high time we elevate our local business to keep pace with our regional counterparts,” said Bayaborda. “Throughout the years, we have been strong among data center, business processing outsourcing, telecom and banking/finance players and look forward to expanding our presence in these and other crucial verticals

The year 2013 proved to be a banner year for Emerson Network Power in the Philippines, with its rapidly-growing channel business, and major infrastructure build and monitoring projects with the country’s top telecom network operators. The company is currently wrapping up a project involving modular containerized solutions in the Philippines, a project that is now being replicated by telecom customers from other countries. Containerized solutions are garnering more attention as a means to quickly deploy efficient and scalable data centers, so Emerson Network Power will continue to leverage this ability, together with the overall strength of its solutions portfolio, to win the local market.
