“We are bullish on the growth prospects of the smartphone market in the Philippines and the launch of the Lenovo Vibe X is a reflection of our belief in the potential and importance of the Philippine market to Lenovo,” said Michael Ngan, Country General Manager of Lenovo Philippines.

A worldwide mobile phone study conducted by the International Data Corporation (IDC) showed that the worldwide mobile phone market is projected to grow at 7.3% year on year on 2013. This growth is driven by the global smartphone shipments that are expected to surpass one billion units for the first time in a single year.

The report also claimed that the Philippines is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets worldwide with a market size that hit 2.6 million last year and which is expected to reach 3.6 million this year.
