D-Link launches DCS-825L mydlink baby camera

D-Link’s Wi-Fi Baby Camera allows parents to transform their mobile devices into a baby monitor to keep watch whether they are busy at home or at work. It comes with many great features such as added security layers, motion, sound and temperature sensors and two-way audio to help parents look after their baby’s needs with ease.

D-Link, considered as one of the world’s biggest suppliers of networking products, has launched its first ever baby camera – the DCS-825L mydlink Cloud Wireless Baby Camera – to keep parents connected to their little ones anytime and anywhere. It comes with an in-built lullaby playback to give parents a hand when it comes to pacifying restless children. The multi-tasking camera also features temperature sensors, sound and motion detectors, and is Wi-Fi enabled to allow parents remote access for easy monitoring of their child’s well-being.

DCS-825L mydlinkJonathan Quek, product marketing manager for D-Link International, said: “Caring for a newborn is one of life’s greatest joys, but it can sometimes be overwhelming, especially with concerns over safety. D-Link’s Wi-Fi Baby Camera allows parents to transform their mobile devices into a baby monitor to keep watch whether they are busy at home or at work. It comes with many great features such as added security layers, motion, sound and temperature sensors and two-way audio to help parents look after their baby’s needs with ease.”

To calm or coax babies to sleep, the Baby Monitor comes fitted with five classic lullabies and a playback function. This helps parents who may not be at home to activate a lullaby from their smartphone or tablet with ease when a notification comes in that their child is awake. With a few taps of the screen on the mydlink Baby App, parents can set a timer for the music to play from five minutes to an hour.

Outfitted with a sound and motion detector, the Wi-Fi enabled camera offers parents the option of receiving alerts when the child is crying or awake. Stay-at-home mothers or working parents will be able to keep a lookout for antsy children who may have been roused from their midday nap without being physically present in the child’s bedroom 24/7. The built-in temperature sensor also informs parents about changes in the room’s temperature, with LED sensors that change color according to fluctuations, keeping tabs of the child’s comfort level.

The D-Link Baby Camera offers parents a secure connection, allowing only authorized users to access the video feeds to assure parents of their privacy. This secure connection, together with the camera’s two-way audio feature lets parents have an intimate, two-way audio exchange with their child. Parents will be able to talk to their baby through the built-in speaker, offering familiar vocal sounds to cajole awoken babies back to sleep.

On top of that, the megapixel camera delivers 720p high-definition visuals with a four times digital zoom function for easy and clear viewing. It is also fitted with a night vision mode that turns on automatically when it gets dark, saving parents the trouble of having to switch on sleep-disturbing lights. This allows parents to keep an eye on their child no matter what time of the day it is.

Installing the Wi-Fi Baby Camera just takes three steps:

  1. Download the mydlink Baby App that is free from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Next, place the camera in the desired location, for example, above the baby’s cot or overlooking a play area, and switch it on.
  3. Run the mydlink Baby App which will automatically detect the camera via its default wireless name and password, and the mobile app will complete the device setup.

New members of the family aren’t limited to babies, either. The Wi-Fi Baby Camera may also be used for pets.

The D-Link DCS-825L mydlinkTM Cloud Wireless Baby Camera will be available in January 2014 at authorized retailers, resellers and distribution partners.
