Lenovo has announced two Ultrabooks designed for business users: the convertible ThinkPad Yoga, and the ultraportable ThinkPad X240.
The ThinkPad Yoga features a magnesium-alloy shell, a 12.5-inch Gorilla Glass touchscreen, and a “lift-and-lock” keyboard that automatically retracts the keyboard to produce a flush surface when the notebook is placed in tablet mode.
The Windows 8.1-based convertible will be available in choices of up to Intel 4th generation Core i7 processors and up to 8GB of DDR3/1600 memory. It also comes with a standard 1 TB of storage, with a 256GB SSD as an available option.
The laptop has a resolution of 1920 by 1080, and will be available with an optional Wacom pen digitizer. It also features two USB 3.0 ports and a four-in-one card reader in addition to mini HDMI.
“The ThinkPad Yoga can flip, fold, twist, turn, and separate to adapt to multiple usages in today’s changing work environments,” said Michael Ngan, Country General Manager, Lenovo Philippines.
Additionally, ThinkPad Yoga features the ThinkPad keyboard with optional backlit models and models with Near Field Communications (NFC) to easily share data between devices.
Weighing 1.8kg and less than 19mm thick, the ThinkPad Yoga will be available starting December 2013 at Lenovo Exclusive Stores and SM North EDSA Think Exclusive Store, and Lenovo Corporate Resellers with pricing that starts from Php71,100.
ThinkPad X240
The 12-inch ThinkPad X240 is being positioned by Lenovo as the “ultimate business-ready ultraportable.”
The X240 weighs less than 3 pounds and is only 20.3 mm (.79 inches) thin. The ThinkPad features up to 4th generation Intel Core i7 processors, up to 1 terabyte of storage, Full HD display option with touch, ThinkPad Precision backlit keyboard and a complete set of ports with full connectivity.
The laptop also showcases the new Power Bridge technology, a new dual-battery design that allows for battery swapping without shutting down the system. The X240 comes with an internal three-cell battery that enables the hot swappability feature. Lenovo claims that with an external Lithium-ion six-cell 72Wh battery, the ThinkPad X240 can provide up to 17.4 hours of battery life. A base X240 configuration has a three-cell internal battery and a three-cell external battery that can be upgraded to a six-cell battery.
The X240 laptop by default comes with Windows 8.1, which is optimized for touch. The ThinkPad X240 will be available starting December 2013 at Lenovo Exclusive Stores and SM North EDSA Think Exclusive Store, and Lenovo Corporate Resellers at Php66,990.
