Teradata has appointed Ella Mae Ortega as its new country manager for the Philippines.

Teradata, an analytic data platforms, marketing applications and consulting services company, has appointed Ella Mae Ortega as its new Country Manager for the Philippines.

Ella Mae will be responsible for strategically augmenting Teradata’s business in the Philippines as well as overseeing and managing its sales, professional services and customer management strategies.  Ella Mae will be reporting to Peter Hand, Area Vice-President of Pacific, South Area and Korea (PSAK).

“We are very happy to welcome Ella Mae as the new country manager for the Philippines.   With her 17 years of experience in business development and sales management in the IT industry we are convinced that she is the right person for this position,” said Peter Hand, Area Vice President – Pacific, South Asia and Korea.

Prior to Teradata, she was the Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Fritz & Macziol Asia, leading a team of client executives, solution architects and sales operations/marketing team to build and execute a business development plan to achieve the high performance growth for the company. Prior to F&M, she worked for IBM Philippines for 14 years as the Territory Manager for General Business.

Ella Mae remarked, “The Philippines is an important market for Teradata. We have a number of significant telecommunications customers and we are well-positioned in  the banking sectors. With the emergence of big data as the new business imperative and a growing appreciation in the market on how business analytics can hone a company’s competitive edge, my charter is to drive growth in Teradata Philippines by expanding intonew sectors while continuing to help our existing and new customers uncover valuable insights from vast volumes of data.”

Teradata has more than 10,000 employees and more than 2,460 customers globally. Among its customers in The Philippines are Philippines Airlines (PAL), Globe and Smart Communications.
