Data from National Statistical and Coordination Board (NSCB) suggests that the Philippine manufacturing industry continues to gain ground after a 10.3% jump from 4.3% last year. As such, Epicor sees this as the perfect time for industry players to upgrade one’s processes.

Operating in the Philippines through its growing roster of local partners, Epicor has provided productivity solutions to the manufacturing market in the Philippines. Through its next-generation Global ERP system, customers are provided with a game changing opportunity via the required flexibility for a more efficient operations and competitiveness in the global market.

Epicor also cites Gelita, the world’s leading supplier of collagen proteins, as one of the primary models of how Epicor next-generation ERP can help one’s organizational processes. Gelita has started its implementation in Australia and will serve as a scalable template to be deployed to the Gelita global network of process manufacturing plants in China and New Zealand. According to Epicor, this can serve as an inspiration to local players who seek to raise the level of their operations to the next level.

“We are not discrete manufacturing, we are process manufacturing. We have a highly complex business environment and we needed a system that had the flexibility to adapt. It was impossible for us to find an off-the -shelf system so we were looking for a solution that could be successfully configured and grow with us,” explained Rubens Maia, Project Manager, Gelita Australia. To meet Gelita’s unique process manufacturing needs, Epicor ERP was extended to deliver a Blending Workbench, which according to Maia is critical to the organisation. “We need to blend our inventory to meet the quality expectations of our customers,” Maia said. “We need to scientifically determine what we are going to be turning that product into. A tool like the Blending Workbench provides us with the visibility we need. We have also implemented barcoding which has given us a massive improvement in the way we do our manufacturing.”

“Epicor next-generation ERP is a highly configurable, agile solution,” said Craig Charlton, senior vice president and general manager for Epicor in Asia Pacific. “As a technology innovator, Epicor is a leader in the development of model-driven, service-oriented architectures. The success achieved configuring a purpose-built process manufacturing solution, like the Blending Workbench, can be attributed to the great work by both Gelita and the Epicor team. We plan to offer the Blending Workbench functionality to other process manufacturing deployments in Asia Pacific, extending our offerings in the process manufacturing industry.”
