Application delivery controller market
Meanwhile, October 2013 marked the entry of Barracuda Networks into the application delivery controller market when it released the Barracuda ADC, an integrated solution that combines load balancing, application acceleration, application control, and Web application security into a single, high-performance platform.
Barracuda ADC combines the advanced capabilities of the firm’s purpose-built appliances in application security and load balancing, which have an installed base of more than 17,000 data center customers around the world.
Available as a multiport platform with fiber and copper network interfaces as well as a virtual appliance, Barracuda ADC is designed to meet the performance requirement of today’s high-traffic data centers having up to 32x1GbE ports and up to 8x10GbE ports. It has a complete application security against attacks at both the network and the application layer, including OWASP Top-10 attacks such as SQL injection, cookie tampering, and session hijacking without impacting system performance. It also has extensive certifications, templates and deployment guides for common applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle Applications, Web servers, and virtual servers.
