Smart Communications, Inc. has introduced a whole new line of postpaid plans that bundle tablets, laptops, and even a printer, with pocket WiFi or Plug-It devices for as low as Php499 a month.
There are four packages under the Smart Bro Gadget Plus Plans: Plan 499, Plan 699, Plan 999, and Plan 1299. All plans are protected with an Anti Bill Shock guarantee.

Ideal for students, Gadget Plus Plan 499 bundles an Acer Iconia B1 with a Pocket WiFi that lets you surf for free for 30 hours and share your connection with friends.
The Acer Iconia has a 7” 1024×600 touchscreen, 8GB ROM, 512MB RAM and runs on the Android Jellybean operating system.
For young professionals, Plan 699 allows you to choose among four 7-inch tablets: the Alcatel T7HD, the HP Slate 7, the Starmobile Engage HD, or the Huawei MediaPad Youth, to go with a Pocket WiFi that gives you 50 hours of free high-speed Internet. All tablets run on the Android Jellybean operating system.
The Alcatel T7HD is powered by a 1.6GHz dual core processor and has a 7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. Both the StarMobile Engage HD and HP Slate come with 8GB ROM and 1GB RAM, while the Huawei MediaPad Youth offers 4GB ROM and 512MB RAM.
For those who want a bigger and more powerful tablet, Plan 999 offers the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, each bundled with a Pocket WiFi that comes with 50 hours of free Internet connection a month. There’s a one-time fee of Php2,000 though.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has an 8-inch 1280×800 TFT touchscreen and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad core processor. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab 3 has 16GB of ROM and 1GB of RAM.
Other bundles offered by Plan 999 are the Acer Aspire V5 122P Touch and the Samsung ATIV Book 2. Both come with a Power Plug-It that provides 50 hours of free surfing a month. There’s a one-time fee of Php1,500 if you choose the Samsung ATIV Book 2 bundle, while the Acer Aspire bundle’s one-time fee is Php2,500.
The Acer Aspire V5 has an 11.6-inch IPS HD with integrated multi-touch screen. It features a 500GB hard disk, 2GB RAM and runs on Windows 8.
Also running on Windows 8, the Samsung ATIV Book 2 offers a 14-inch HD LED display, 500GB hard disk and 2GB RAM.
For those with a bigger budget, Plan 1299 offers two unique bundles that deliver 50 hours of free Internet connection. One bundle comes with a Samsung ATIV Book 2, a Samsung WiFi printer, and a Pocket WiFi. The other package consists of an Acer Aspire V5 122P, Acer Iconia B1 and a Pocket WiFi.
“Smart’s Gadget Plus Plans eliminate the headaches that come with owning the latest gadgets since the
cost of the devices is integrated into the monthly bills,” said Michelle Curran, data and international services marketing head at Smart.
Anti-Bill Shock Guarantee
Outside of the free monthly allocation per bundle, subscribers will be charged the standard rate of Php5 per 15 minutes of Internet access.
To ensure that subscribers wouldn’t have to pay more than they intended to, Smart Bro’s Gadget Plus Plans come with an anti-bill shock guarantee that automatically activate once users reach a certain amount.
For Plan 499, the Internet subscription will automatically be converted to unlimited once the usage reaches Php1,199. For Plan 699, the usage ceiling is at Php1,299, while subscribers would only have to pay a maximum amount of Php1,599 every month for Plan 999 gadget bundles.
For those on the Plan 1299 laptop bundles, the Internet allocation automatically becomes unlimited once the usage reaches Php1,899.
