HP has showcased its latest lineup of retail solutions that enable retailers to integrate the advantages of face-to-face with e-commerce to deliver more thoughtful, personalized engagements.
“We are excited to share with you the new lineup of retail solutions that we have at HP,” said Albert Mateo, Country Manager, Printing and Personal Systems Group, HP Philippines, during the recently held HP Retail Therapy 2013 event. “We will demonstrate how we vertically integrate a lot of the innovations that we have, either from our mobility business to our point-of-sale (POS) or retail solutions.”
HP’s end-to-end retail solutions focus on making omni-channel retailing a reality. As 90% of all transactions take place in the store, consumers are increasingly embracing digital technologies and devices in all aspects of their buying itinerary. This is very important as it helps attract new clients and retain existing customers.
“Omni-channel retailing requires a personalized and constant seamless experience across all channels,” said Christian Charlton, HP’s Retail Solutions Director, Printing and Personal Systems Group, Asia Pacific and Japan.
At the HP Retail Therapy 2013 event, the company revealed its latest retail technologies, namely the HP ElitePad Mobile POS solution, the HP RP 7800 system, and the HP rp5800 retail solution.
Composed of HP ElitePad and an HP Retail Jacket, the HP ElitePad Mobile POS solution features a fully integrated design with built-in barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader. The system integrates with a retailer’s existing IT infrastructure, saving time and money by allowing them to easily connect to store systems.
Charlton and Michelle Juliano, Market Development Manager, Value PC, HP Philippines, explain that the setup allows businesses to meet customer needs anywhere in the store with mobile POS and assisted selling capabilities.
“Consumers expect the same personalized experience they get online or on their mobile device in a retailer’s brick-and-mortar store,” said Charlton. “With the HP ElitePad Mobile POS solution, store managers and associates are empowered to move the sale from behind the counter, giving them the ability to assist the customer right on the sales floor for immediate customer satisfaction.”
HP ElitePad Mobile POS solution is powered by Intel 22760 Atom processor and runs using the preinstalled Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro operating system. The unit also comes up with a standard integrated detachable hand strap so users can focus without worrying about grip fatigue; and an optional secondary battery which enables the solution to operate for extended hours.
