Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in maximizing availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, has announced the strategic appointment of Ronald Astorga as telecom vertical manager for its Philippine market unit. Astorga’s promotion is indicative of the company’s aggressive plans to augment growth in its telco business, specifically targeting big players in the local market.
Emerson Network Power has made impressive headway in recent network build projects for customers in the Asia Pacific region in the past years. In 2011, the company announced a landmark $100 million contract to build a superfast broadband network spanning the entire continent of Australia. The project showcases Emerson Network Power’s comprehensive product suite, including high-efficiency power systems; cooling systems and SmartAisle optimization; infrastructure monitoring and management; and fully integrated, factory-tested modular housing systems. The products are complemented by Emerson’s in-house integration expertise, combining solution engineering, end-to-end project management, global supply chain and logistics, and site civil works
Astorga will continue to report to Barry Bunyi and will be supported by Edgar Morales, telecom account manager for Emerson Network Power in the Philippines. With Emerson Network Power’s Asia Pacific operations headquartered in Manila, local customers are also supported by a network of technical and service engineers, guaranteeing round-the-clock assistance whenever needed.
Astorga graduated from Adamson University with a degree in Computer Engineering. He also finished the LEAP Program at the Asian Institute of Management in 2011.
